Sometimes you just need a little dessert, am I right? Well, the good news is, you can still have dessert while nourishing your body and satisfying that craving. These healthy dessert ideas are easy to make and are pretty darn delicious.
If you want to know all the benefits of each ingredient I talk about it in the video here.
Almond Butter Swirl Brownies
What makes these brownies is the decadent swirl of almond butter which not only adds healthy fats that will keep your blood sugar stable but also protein to help keep you full. They are wonderfully fudgy and you would never guess how healthy they are!
- 1/2 cup avocado
- 1/2 cup sweet potato
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup cacao or cocoa
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 cup almond butter, melted
Preheat oven to 350F
Blend together sweet potato and avocado until smooth.
Transfer into a bowl and add in remaining ingredients except for the almond butter.
Stir together until combined.
Pour out into a greased baking dish, I used a round 9 inch pan.
Add the almond butter in four large spoonfuls on the top and swirl into batter using a knife.
Bake at 350F for 30 minutes.
Allow to cool 10 minutes before slicing.
Enjoy and store in the fridge for 5 days or freeze and defrost as you want.
Strawberries And Cream
This has been one of my favorite easy and quick desserts for a long time. It feels a lot more decadent than it is and assembles really quick. Plus, with the sweetness of the strawberries you really don’t miss the sugar.
These are the perfect thing to store in the freezer and take one out whenever you have a craving. They are made with an easy paleo chocolate, coconut butter, and peppermint, making for a refreshing treat.
- 1/2 cup coconut butter
- 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
- 3 tbsp raw cacao
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tsp maple syrup
Melt coconut butter in a double boiler.
While coconut butter is melting down combine cacao, coconut oil, and maple syrup.
Add 1 tsp of paleo chocolate to the bottom of silicone cup.
Add 1 tsp of coconut butter to each cup.
Finish with 1 more tsp of paleo chocolate on top and swirl it together with the coconut butter.
Allow to set in freezer 15 minutes.
